2. History Study

Spend 60+ minutes researching the following topic during this time period.

SCIENTIFIC REVOLUTION & THE AGE OF IDEAS
1543 – 1789

1. Read Usborne Encyclopedia of World History (UEWH) pgs 284-289.
2. Spend at least 45 additional minutes studying any resource focused on this time period (YouTube, documentary, picture book, magazine, etc.).

   As you study, fill out your Time Period Study worksheet.
   
   You must add information about at least one Key Person, one Key Event, and several Interesting Facts. If you want to do more, fill out more than one worksheet.

1. Add the following key dates or figures to your timeline.
2. Add ONE additional date that you find during your History Study.

Finish page 14 in How to Write a 5-Paragraph Essay if you didn’t finish in class.

Whether you finished in class or finished at home, give yourself points on the coversheet for completing the essay assignment. You can call it “Converting Prompt to Claim.”

5. Writing Assignment

This week you have a creative writing assignment. Please keep your assignment between 1 to 3 pages double-spaced.

Write a short story to go with your map that you drew in class.

You can use one of these ideas or create your own:

• Myth explaining how something on your map came to be
• A historical highlight or momentous occasion that happened on your map
• An everyday moment that explains how people interact

Use the CHECKLIST after you write to make sure you included everything.
