1. Caught’yas
Complete Caught-ya #58-60. After you are finished, watch the videos below for your corrections.
2. Timeline
This week – in light of current events – we are going to detour from our regular history and study an event from 100 years ago that is particularly applicable today.
- Add the following key date to your timeline.
- 1918 The Spanish Flu pandemic kills at least 50 million people worldwide
3. History Study
Spend 60+ minutes researching researching the following topic during this time period.
SPANISH FLU PANDEMIC
1918-1919
- Spend at least 15 minutes studying in your History Survey text.
- Spend at least 45 additional minutes studying any resource focused on this time period (YouTube, documentary, picture book, magazine, etc.).

You must add information about at least one Key Person, one Key Event, and several Interesting Facts. If you want to do more, fill out more that one worksheet.
4. Writing Assignment
After spring break, you will have one more essay writing assignment to finish out the year.
This time, you’ll be writing an essay to convince me of something. It’s called a “persuasive essay” because you’ll be trying to persuade me.
You don’t have to write anything this week, but you can start thinking about a topic that you have an opinion about that has two sides that you could write about.
I’ll give more examples in the next post. But you can start thinking now. 🙂
